This course was customized to accommodate Labor & Industries clients that were injured working in agriculture related jobs, such as picking fruit or cutting vegetables.

People often fall off the ladders, slipping and tripping are very common reasons people get injured.

Jobs that are easier to transition for workers that only have farm working experience are in the fruit processing industry.

This training prepares individuals to work in an industry that allows growth opportunities.  Many companies have seasonal jobs, but many allow opportunities for year round employment, further  more many companies like to promote individuals into forklift operation, trucking, administrative, sales, quality and processing positions.  Because of their experience and expertise in the fruit industry, these are jobs that are easy to transition into for displaced workers.

GMC TI will teach students in the classroom how to identify good and bad fruit, fruit quality, safety procedures, food processing, packaging and the labor market analysis.

Students will receive hands on training and will work sorting fruit on a conveyor belt with conventional settings.

This class is customized to accommodate the needs of the student and the referring agency.  Please ask about special accommodations.
