PROGRAM COMPONENTS:
Cash register operation: Registering amounts, managing special functions, discounts, tax exemptions, voids, refunds, interpreting and changing register tapes.
Sales transactions: collecting cash payments and tendering change, processing credit cards, debit and check payments, receiving coupons and gift certificates, handling returns and exchanges.
Sales and service interaction: using customer service skills for effective communication, greeting customers, answering inquiries, offering information, and handling complaints.
Record keeping: preparing float records, tallying and reconciling sales for shift reports, filling out deposit forms, completing other work documents for cashier/checker duties.
Other skills training provided are: enhancing math and language skills to work with currency, estimate and check machine calculations, perform record-keeping, and manage communication, etc.
